NIKLA-ANCLA is pleased to congratulate our Chair, Camille Callison, on being awarded the prestigious Canadian Research Knowledge Network 2024 Ron MacDonald Outstanding Service Award! This prestigious award recognizes those who have "demonstrated vision, dedication, and outstanding service in building bridges and collaboration to advance knowledge infrastructure in Canada," and Camille's award is a testament to her tireless advocacy concerning First Nations and Indigenous peoples in Canada. Please review the full announcement from CRKN.
The award recognizes Camille's leadership and dedication to library association work in provincial, national, and international contexts. As one of the founders of NIKLA-ANCLA, Camille has volunteered countless hours to advance and support an association focused on First Nations, Métis, and Inuit information and knowledge. The creation of NIKLA-ANCLA, a recommendation in the Canadian Federation of Library Association's Truth and Reconciliation Report, and Camille's efforts to create and sustain change within library and cultural heritage spaces have made lasting impacts, inspiring hope and progress in our community.
On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we acknowledge and express gratitude for the significant personal efforts and labour of Camille and all First Nations, Métis, Inuit and non-Indigenous peoples toward reconciliation and lasting change.
How wonderful! Congratulations Camille! This award is well deserved. You're a true source of inspiration and it's a privilege to work with you.
